Time for some R&R... Just a quick getaway for the weekend since it's gonna be a holiday on Monday, we decided to take a trip to Taipei. 😊

The last time i was in Taipei, it was probably 14 years ago when i joined the 3 weeks educational tour with fellow Fil-Chi community. I haven't been back ever since, and it's time to explore Taipei again.

Our flight was supposed to be at 12:30nn but unfortunately, we got delayed because we were not advised by PAL that they changed their schedule for their flight to Taipei, which will now be at 4:45PM, well instead of getting angry, we just had our lunch in Jollibee... And BEE happy 😊

Yehliu Geopark

Our first stop is Yehliu Geopark. It is famous for its distinctive feature of having rock formations that dot its surface.

Good thing it was not raining when we got here or else we won't be able to take these photos.

Strolling along these rock formations reminds me how wonderful God's creation is, these are natural beauty that we get to appreciate.

Jintong station was built in the 1930s by the Japanese, it used to be a coal mining town but now its more well known for its tourism and many souvenir shops.

Shi Fen Old Street 十分老街

The Jingan Suspension Bridge is located behind Shi fen station. The bridge connects Shifen and Nanshan villages, they used this bridge to transport coal before.

Shi fen old street is famous for sky lanterns and souvenir shops, we saw a lot of locals and tourist in this area. We can't leave this place without flying our own sky lantern... It was raining already so we had to hurry. The attendants here are experts in taking photos!

Golden Waterfall doesn't really have gold in its falls, but the water has a golden color since it comes from the rainfall and the heavy metal elements when it used to be a mining area.

We got dizzy going up Jioufen Gold Mine Museum because of the zig zag road we took going up the mountain, but upon arriving at the area, we were at awe with the wonderful view. It feels like we are near the clouds and so close to nature. 🌳🌳🌳

Jiu fen old street is probably the most famous amongst all the towns we visited today that were gold mine areas turned into tourist spots. This one is the most crowded amongst all of them.

Today was a more of relaxing day for us. We took the subway going to Huashan Creative to look for artsy stuff Taipei has to offer.

There were so many people inside this shop. They sell wooden displays and people simply can't resist to buy these super cute wooden decoration.

There's a DIY section in this store where you can create your own wooden decor, and they have tools that you can use like screws, hammer, glue, etc. We didn't notice that we stayed here for 2 hours because we got so engaged with doing our own design.

鼎泰豐 Din Tai Fung

Our Taipei trip will not be complete if we didn't eat at Din Tai Fung. This restaurant is now in Manila and all over the world, but we still wanna eat here because this is where it originated and as they say... the original will always be the best!
